Itinerary

Day 1: Casablanca

  • The workshop starts in Casablanca, the art deco heart of Morocco and also home to the Hassan II Mosque, one of the most impressive in the world.

Day 2: Rabat

  • Rabat, the capital of Morocco, contrasts the modern development and the classic traditional charm on a coastal seascape. Wooden fishing boats still traverse the river against the quaint neighborhood of the Kasbah Oudaya. The city includes a full range of monuments as well as architectural and decorative elements from various dynasties

Day 3 + 4: Asilah – Tangier

  • We begin by exploring the international art hub of Asilah, known for its murals, coastal light, and relaxed creative energy, before continuing north to Tangier. In Tangier, a city layered with literary history and dynamic street life, we’ll immerse ourselves in its unique blend of European and North African influences.
  • Tangier will also serve as our base for the solar eclipse preparation. We’ll spend dedicated time scouting our exact viewing location, refining compositions, reviewing camera settings, and walking through eclipse shooting strategy so you feel completely confident. On eclipse day, we’ll photograph and witness totality from one of the best locations in Morocco for the August 2, 2027 solar eclipse, positioned for optimal duration and clarity as the moon’s shadow sweeps across the Strait of Gibraltar.

Day 5 + 6: Chefchaouen

  • The Blue Peal of Morocco, Chefchaouen, is one of the most photogenic cities in the world. Opportunities will surround us as the entire town is awash in blue from the streets to homes. We explore within and take in views of the town from its surrounds.

Day 7 + 8: Volubilis -Meknes – Fes – Middle Atlas

  • The ruined Roman city of Volubilis allows us to explore the UNESCO World Heritage site for beautifully preserved mosaics amongst the surrounds of the rolling green hills.
  • The Middle Atlas Mountains stretching through the north are a breathtaking range of rolling hills and peaks. They are known for their stunning natural beauty, dense forests, and sparkling lakes.
  • The ancient medina of Fes is a labyrinth of possibilities for photographers. It provides boundless insight into its colorful origins as the cultural and spiritual center of Morocco. The Fes tannery and its many souks offer a window into the history of Morocco.

Day 9: Casablanca

  • We head back to Casablanca for our final sessions and will try and allocate some time to review and edit some images from the tour. Participants are encouraged to make bookings to depart from 8th August onwards.
